Located at the Satya Wacana Christian University (SWCU) University Hall, an inauguration was held for the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special District Active Learning Facilitator Association (ALFA) Organizer by the Chief of Party of the Decentralized Basic Education (DBE) 2 Dr. Arief Sadiman, on Tuesday (7/5).
The inauguration was marked by affixing the signatures of the ALFA members and handing over the ALFA academician files. The General Leadership of the Central Java and Yogyakarta Special District ALFA is headed by Prof. Dr. Sukarno, M.Si with the 1st Head of Program Dra. Wahyuningsih, M.Pd and the 2nd Head of Organization Dewi Rochsantiningsih, PhD.
Two SWCU lecturers became part of the Central Java – Yogyakarta Special District ALFA Organizers, who were Wahyu Hari Kristiyanto, M.Pd as Secretary I and Dra. Naniek Sulistyo Wardani, M.Si as one of the Research and Development members.
One of the primary programs of ALFA is to disseminate active learning programs to upper educational institutions or schools that are not yet induced independently. At this time, ALFA has 94 national facilitators who come from 13 upper educational institutions in Central Java and Yogyakarta Special District that previously joined Training of Trainers (TOT) Active Learning. The active learning for schools is designed, developed, and implemented based on school conditions. In this teaching, teachers are trained with knowledge and expertise in implementing active learning in schools.
In his greeting, Arief Sadiman expressed his appreciation for the formation of ALFA organizers in Central Java and Yogyakarta Special District. Central Java Province is a province that actively works in cooperation with DBE 2. In this event, Arief Sadiman also expressed his gratitude to the SWCU Rector for his willingness to host this event.
Developing Sustainable Teaching Profession Seminar
After the inauguration, the event was continued with the Developing Sustainable Teaching Profession National Seminar. The two keynote speakers in this seminar were Prof. Zamroni, PhD from Yogyakarta State University and Dr. Vincent P. Costa, Ed.D Central Java DBE 2 Province Coordinator.
The seminar was joined by 230 participants, including among them elementary school teachers from Blora, Purwodadi, Wonosobo, Kebumen, and Banyumas Regencies, as well as from 13 upper educational institutions that took part in ALFA. As part of the events that were officially opened by SWCU Rector Prof. Pdt. John A. Titaley, Th.D, 43 scholarly papers were also presented by lecturers and teachers. (at/upk_bphl/foto:upk).
